What would a Tintin story be nowadays? Tintin might return to Russia, or fight a new Al Capone, who might use the media as weapons. Hergé would have found many sources of inspiration during the last 15 years: the Gulf War, the fall of the eastern bloc, the financial crisis in Asia, and others. It is striking to note that Hergé had already dealt with such subjects.
Thanks to Hergé, comic strips are being recognized as a major literary genre, of which he is one of the most eminent figures. If comic strips were studied in class, Hergé would be, like Zola and Balzac, a reference.
