People generally assume that downloading movies in Emule or other file sharing networks is free. But this doesn’t take into account the cost of leaving a PC on 24/24, and Olivier Seres calculated this cost to be 30 Euros per month in France (for a 430W PC, 0.1057 Euro/kWH x 24 h * 30 days * 0.43 kW = 30 Euros). I’m not sure what the exact price per kWH is Estonia, I think it’s about the same.

That makes quite a few DVD rented every month. Too bad there is no Netflix in Estonia.
