My blogging history

I did notice that I have been blogging since longer than I thought… For the development of the APIC Timer module for the Linux kernel, I had a project page that I maintained along the development and where I posted news about my progress. This was started beginning of 2000, and it actually was a blog.

Although I was working on this project alone, I always believed blogs (or wikis) were a great way of keeping the momentum and the excitement of projects going. And RSS is a good solution to reduce the clutter of email inboxes.

Unfortunately, contrary to open-source projects, there is a serious limitation to this in a corporate environment: It only works well if the people are motivated and participate to the discussions…
